Lacombe is unusual in this region for how sharply its housing divides. Usually not as much as people fear, and that is worth discussing before anything starts. There is generally more than one route to a pipe, and in an older building the least destructive one is worth real time to work out. We would rather open one small area we are confident about than three exploratory ones.
We are on a well. Does that change anything?
It changes quite a lot. Well water varies enormously in hardness and iron content, and both are hard on water heaters, fixtures and anything else the water passes through. If equipment keeps failing early, the supply is often the reason rather than the equipment, and treating the water is sometimes the more sensible purchase than replacing the appliance again.
