About SylvanLake Plumbers

A small crew working out of a shop on 49 Avenue, on the systems a house runs on and nobody thinks about until one stops.

Why This Company Works the Way It Does

Sylvan Lake Plumbers was started by Jordan McLeod, who grew up around this town and went into the trade here. The idea behind it was not complicated, and it came out of watching how often people are handed a price without ever being told what is wrong: a customer should be able to explain their own problem to somebody else after the tradesperson has left.

That sounds like a small thing. It is actually the difference between a household that can make a decision and one that is guessing. When you understand why a part failed, you can weigh a repair against a replacement, judge whether a second opinion is worth getting, and work out whether this is a problem for this month or for three years from now. When you do not, all you have is a number and a feeling about whether you trust the person who wrote it.

The team is deliberately small, and that is a trade rather than a boast. It caps how much work we can take in a week, and there are days in July when we cannot get to everybody who calls. In exchange, the people who come to your house are the people who came last time, they remember your equipment, and nothing gets handed to a subcontractor whose standards we cannot vouch for.

We work out of 4905 49 Ave, which is worth mentioning only because a good number of the results you get searching for a plumber in this town belong to companies that are not in it. If you want to turn up and speak to somebody, there is somewhere to turn up to.

What We Work On

Six services covering the water side and the heating side of a house. Each has its own page explaining what usually goes wrong and what it takes to put right.

What We Hold To

Explain it before pricing it

You should know what failed and why before you are shown a number. A price with no diagnosis behind it is not a quote, it is a request for trust you have no basis to give.

Repair when repair is right

A lot of what we are called to has years left in it. Saying so costs us the larger job, and it is the reason people call us back and pass our name on.

Claim only what we can show

No invented credentials, no borrowed reviews, no numbers we cannot account for. In a trade where anyone can say anything on a website, that is worth more than the adjectives.

Leave it better than a worksite

Sheets down, mess out, old equipment gone with us. You should not be tidying up after a service call.

The People Who Turn Up

There are three of us, and you can read who does what on the Meet the Team page. If you are in the trade and wondering whether we are hiring, that is the Careers page.

Tell Us What Is Going On

Describe the symptom and the age of the equipment if you know it. You will get a straight answer about whether it is urgent and what it is likely to involve.
