Accessibility

Everyone should be able to read this site and reach us. Where the site fails you, the phone does not.

The standard we build to

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA as the reference, and new pages are checked against it.

What that meant in practice here

Concretely, on this site:

  • Every colour used for text was measured for contrast, and colours that failed at body size are restricted to large display type and fills
  • Headings run in order, so a screen reader can move through a page by structure
  • The navigation, the menus and both forms work from the keyboard alone
  • Form fields have visible labels rather than placeholder text standing in for them
  • The FAQ sections are native disclosure elements, so they work without JavaScript and the browser's find can open a closed answer
  • Text reflows and stays readable when zoomed or read on a phone
  • Animation is minimal, and what exists respects the reduced-motion setting

Where this falls short

The forms are handled by a third-party service and we do not control its code. If a form is difficult to use with your setup, call or email instead and we will take the details that way — you will not be disadvantaged for it.

There are no photographs on the site at present. When job photography is added, every image gets a text alternative describing what it shows before it goes up.

If something here does not work for you

Tell us and we will fix the page. It helps to know:

  • Which page you were on
  • What you were trying to do
  • The device, browser or assistive technology you were using

You never have to use this website

Call us and a person will talk through the question, book the visit and read out anything on the site you need. Every estimate this site can start can be started on the phone instead. The website is one route in, not the route in.

Still Not Sure Where You Stand?

These pages are written to be read, not to be impenetrable. If a paragraph on one of them does not make sense, ask and we will explain it.
